It's was the 16th December 2015 when Daniel asked Lauren to marry him. Planning didn't start straight away and after too'ing and fro'ing about May they finally decided on the 21st July 2018 as their DATE!
What a day that became.
Being in the wedding business it was always going to be a day that Lauren took ownership of and with the help of family & friends and some fabulous trusted suppliers the dream day became a reality.
Planning and organising every single aspect of the day, with Dan's approval she went full steam ahead. The location was always going to be walking distance from home and with the help of their friend Penny they had a spot to host the best day of their lives, right behind Dan's parents house under the stars in a Sailcloth Tent supplied by Events Under Canvas.
The day got bigger and bigger and the flower growing was one of the highlights especially the dahlias that became their wedding flower, we all quickly fell in love with them. Dan's Mum started them off, tending to 'her babies' she got them ready for the big outdoors. This has escalated and OPW have now taken on a piece of land to create a flower farm!!!! Exciting!!!
Looking back on the scrap book there were several changes along the way and there were lots of hurdles to overcome, generally all dealt with with a smile with only the odd rant out of frustration.
Dan's requests were simple - a bar that you don't have to wait ages in a queue for a drink, cold drinks and lots of it! That was pretty much it. Lauren added to this with her quirky gin bar which OPW hire out for weddings. This was a huge success. The bar & Staff were supplied by Need a Bar and all housed under Events Under Canvas's newest addition, The Stretch Tent.
Lauren's big thing was FOOD! Unlike most brides Lauren was so looking forward to the dinner on the day. After 6 months of getting herself together for her dress the food did not disappoint. Linda at Gather & Feast was immense. We are all still thinking about that food.
Music - they all love music and Jo & Lauren do enjoy a sing song, everyone commented on how fabulous Lara George was, just as Lauren imagined.
Lauren will say she didn't really have time to be a bride until around 11am on her wedding day at which point she was just so happy that nothing was ever going to get her down. She also wouldn't of had it any other way!
The only thing they couldn't do is photograph the day itself and with all the best intentions they couldn't even photograph the journey as they were all exhausted. Its one thing providing clients with photography, stationery and floristry but this was full on planning and they needed to be the focus of the day as well, well Lauren and Dan mainly but they all had a part to play.
Lauren entrusted this task to Kerrie Mitchell based just down the road. They are big believers in supporting local businesses and having met with Kerrie previously Lauren knew she could leave this element in good hands. Kerrie's blog is now up so have a little peek at some of the amazing details (link at the bottom)
Lastly but by no means least a massive shout out to Scott at Phoenix Printing for sorting out the signage and the table plan in the theme of 'cheeky little boozers' both Lauren & Dan couldn't have achieved what they wanted without you being there to sort it out at a moments notice. Superb!
Being a little sad about not having captured too much ourselves we have put some photo's together below taken by Jo - Our Pretty Wedding partner, sister, Maid of Honour & best friend. We are so very proud of what was created, it was incredible. I know its easy to be biased but it was absolutely the best wedding EVER!
